We supply the Australian architectural market with high quality and eco friendly facade products including aluminium, timber and cement composite panels, clay tiles and architectural glass.

Our history

SGI was founded in 1988 by Stephen Geddes who believed the Australian market needed an independent glass source. Seeing this opportunity to offer architects and designers the choice and the flexibility that was not available at the time, Stephen travelled to Tulsa Oklahoma U.S.A to establish the first supply chain of Architectural glass with Sun Glass Products INC. Later that year SGI‘s first office was opened in Eastwood.

By 1993 SGI had established a leading position in the market with glass being supplied to some of Australia’s most prestigious buildings. Due to the success generated from such an explosion in Glass sales, SGI was approached by Japanese Multinational giant, Mitsubishi, resulting in the introduction of Alpolic® to SGI’s product range and a long lasting relationship was formed.

SGI moved from strength to strength forming new relationships with suppliers, builders and architects worldwide. The introduction of Prodema and Swisspearl in 2006 attracted attention from major architect firms, notably FJMT Architects.

The 2007-2009 Global Financial Crisis placed all businesses in a challenging environment with no definite security. SGI took this uncertain period to grow and learn by implementing state of the art data recording software and as a result efficiency and productivity grew within the business. The core business of SGI had transformed from being the distributor to becoming the partner and providing facade solutions to our architectural network.

Today we are responsible for the distribution of Alpolic in NSW, QLD, NT, ACT and WA .The success of the introduction of Prodema , Swisspearl and Moeding resulted in SGI gaining the exclusive distribution rights throughout Australia for Moeding and Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands markets for Prodema and Swisspearl. Architectural glass has grown in demand and still remains as one of SGI’s leading products.
